Drafting a trouse block
Notice how high the collar ride up the neck
Collar and stand are very wide and curved
The notches indicate seam allowance, centre back neck , and the cent back were collar and stand attach . The punch hols indicated hook and bar placement.
After drafting a two piece shirt collar from front and back neck measurements. I usually make the collar up with out seam allowance except were the bottom edge of the collar meets the collar band. This is a very fast way of quickly determining the collar fit and design. ( for the purposes of demonstration I have made this collar up fully.
This is one of the most common pattern alteration I make to increase the out side edges of the collar. I normally do this with single ply fabric but for the purposes of demonstration have sewn this two piece collar up.
Compare both side of the collar you can see one side is more relaxed accommodating the body were as the other side is tight and pulling the body up.
